If you traverse the intracoastal you are surrounded by beauty and nature, but you also will see what resembles a parking lot of junk vessels. Some of these vessels are live-aboards, and we believe most if not all are dumping sewage directly into the waterway. It is bad for the environment and bad for New Smyrna Beach. Legally, this can be challenging and we are researching options and precedents that may be useful toward empowering our local officials to solve this problem.
